Use your best estimate. The defaults (88%, 92%, 97%) reflect a typical mid-performing line; adjust them once you pull real numbers from your MES or shift logs.
Why does the report treat the bottleneck as more important than other steps?
Because the slowest step caps total throughput. Speeding up a non-bottleneck step only creates idle time upstream or extra inventory downstream; it does not raise output.
Can I add more than five process steps?
The generator covers up to five steps, which fits most single-cell or single-pipeline analyses. For longer value streams, run it once per segment and compare the bottlenecks.
How is this different from a plain OEE calculator?
